INTERNSHIPS

Opportunities exist for short-term, project based internships as well as longer, administrative internships. Interns work closely with Maryland Traditions staff to plan, implement and document on-going programs and specific projects.

These internships are ideal for college students or recent college graduates interested in folklore/folk life, arts administration or traditional arts programming. Some opportunities may be available for interested and mature high-school students.

College credit can be arranged through an intern’s educational institution. Compensation is sometimes available for qualified interns.

Possible internship activities may include planning and coordinating public programming, supporting application processes, cultural documentation, research on archival holdings, and writing and editing.
